Well worth the hour drive! I shall be returning soon. – Luella M
Yesterday I went for a walk and found a gem of a shop in the town centre of Spalding, Lincolnshire. Breathtaking window displays and jolly painted wooden chairs repurposed as planters either side of the doorway to greet you. On entering a friendly ‘hello’ from the owner and further browsing commenced.
There was so much to take in, the shop had a lovely smell of beeswax in the corner, the candles were gorgeous. This shop wasn’t afraid off colour which made a change from all the recent grey, don’t worry there were creams and neutrals but also beautiful blues and greens, pinks, reds, yellows… even a draw unit with a rainbow of colours. Something for every taste! When I remarked on all the colours the staff directed me to the paint, they are Annie Sloan stockists. Chalk paint can do wonderful things to unloved furniture, as can a few new knobs and the shop had a lovely range.
Other items that caught my eye that day was the vintage cutlery turned into jewellery by a local design duo, the range off ‘Rosie made a thing’ cards and the mirrors. I particularly liked the outside mirror for my garden and was kindly given the measurements so I could check at home before buying.
I was quite excited by all the inspiration the shop and staff had given me and I rushed home to measure the garden wall knowing it wouldn’t be long before I returned. – Tracy D
